The Barney Rustle is a great buy; besides looking good, it will withstand just about anything. From getting stuck in subway doors to being super- packed with junk (way beyond what is really needed) It continues to be what it was when I bought it!

Dude, this bag totally rules. In addition to being super sweet looking, it's super durable & really holds up well in the rain. I love the easy to use strap adjuster system. It could use more pockets, maybe compartmental ones for pens, a cell phone, etc.

My first Crumpler. I think the size is great, easy to carry and very nice to have. Get yours soon!

Just got mine today and i love it the very minute i opened it. It can put heaps of things even my macbook pro. the strap is even better than any other bags i've used. Besides, it came in three days which is really fast to me.

This bag saved my life!! I had a bike accident when a carcut in front of me, and I hit it and flew over the top. Thankfully, when I smacked onto the bitumen, my barney rusltle blanket cushioned my fall and I didn't hurt my back or head! Wish I had one strapped to each shin to protect my poor legs from the harsh reality of hitting the car!

WOW what a bag! I can fit all my cycling needs inside very easily with heaps of room to spare.Very comfortable when wearing it for commuting and mixing it up on the trails...BIG UPS! to the guys at the fitzroy shop you were a great help...

This Bag is just awesome and nearly indestructible. And many color combinations to choose from. Had a very strong impulse to get another BRB just for the color's sake. The material is tough and the inner pockets are cleverly placed. The Zip Pocket is a cool feature to store important documents securely. When tightly fasten, it is very difficult for "unwanted hands" to slip in for a pick. The Size of BRB is just nice for me for a messenger bag. Even if I overload it with heavy stuff like a water bottle and a notebook pc, and stuff it fully with clothes, etc, the weigh is still manageble. This Bag is for Life.

Already have the Complete Seed, wanted a messenger bag for smaller rides. 100 miles a week or so on the road I need somethin' that isn't a POS like my bike! Well, the bag is smaller, but still works, and the reflective striping is a nice touch. Water resistance is about what you expect; i.e., good. Dig the shoulder pad, my Timbuk2 didn't come with one, Crumpler is ahead of the game on that score. FIT: The bag rides nice on the bike, it's not too big so when full it kind of bulges out from your back, so pack your load carefully, but then, it's not oversized or supposed to be. Strap adjustment is neat, but the slack from the stabalizer strap had to be secured w/ a ziptie. I cut the end of the main strap to get rid of the extra and used the keeper loop on the bag for a carabiner to clip my helmet to instead. LOOK: Hey, gear can be as functional as pie, but if it makes you look like a dweeb you won't use it. Look at the Governor of NJ and his seatbelt! The downside of the Barney Rustle is its "hip" starburst pattern, which either remidns you of those "save Tibet" bumper stickers, or the rising sun of the imperial Japanese army from WWII. I'm always partial to a plainish bag, so I found a green one that's pretty much all one color, though it still has the starburst pattern, but i like it, its more subdued. The remainder of the bag is black, which is good, doesn't show dirt as much when you drop it after a ride and run to grab a drink. Reflective stripe is a BIG plus. I'm speaking as a guy who'se been hit by cars. A big plus! COST: Not cheap, the thing comes to about 90$US with tax which is at least ten dollars more than the Timbuk2 medium, which is approximately the same size and has similar features. On the other hand, I had to make my own shoulder pad for my Timbuk2; the Crumpler comes with one. Still, considering you can get a custom courier bag from some companies for like 140$US, 90$US for a stock bag is kinda steep. On the other hand, it's pretty much got all the features most riders would want for commuting, etc. (actual bike messengers would want a larger bag than the Barney Rustle).. let's just leave it at, it's not cheap, but not a bad deal either, and I enjoy it. PROS: A nice small to medium sized messenger bag for cycling. You can also stash your gear IN it during your shift if you commute to work and your archaic boss doesn't provide lockers... Wateresistant, and lets face it, it kinda looks cool. CONS: It is small, so make sure you know how to fit it, it has no loops for flashing rear lights, and you're limited to a rising sun pattern on the flap. Sure, I'd change a few things if I was developing it... who wouldn't? But for a stock bag it's actually pretty cool, the starburst pattern isn't bad in army green, and I like the fit and feel on and off the bike. Get one, you will decide you like it.

Versatile and has been a great nappy bag. Yep, now doing it for 2 kids and not a hint of pastel or cutie pie teddy bears anywhere.

Andrew - 30 May, 2007

Awesome bag - lots of room for bits and bobs, constructed extremely well and extra handsome, just like me. Also wicked good service from the crumpler webstore (in Canada) - friendly with a lighting fast response/shipping.

James Lipari - 06 May, 2007

This bag is sweet! I love it, it fits in everything i need for every day life PLUS MORE!

John Hunt - 10 Dec, 2006

An everyday bag for the every day guy/gal. Big enough to carry your essentials plus the paper to read on the go, a light jacket when the weather seems unpredictable and a bottle of Grey Goose to quench thy thirst. Yet small enough to not get in the way of everyday activities like fire fighting. AND IT FINALLLY COMES IN THE ORIGINAL SUPERMAN COLOURS!!!

Just picked up the bag at Interbike and I love it so much I kind of wish I hadn't promised it to the missus. Guess I'll have to get one of my own now. Way cool company, most fun booth at the show. Thanks for the vegimite enlightenment and of course the beer!! Cheers. http://www.flickr.com/photos/bigbadbenny/sets/72157594304423925/detail/

Michael Le Busque - 18 Jul, 2006

This bag is sweet. You fill it up with stuff, and just when you think you cant fit anything else in it, you can stuff another couple of beers in there. The first thing I noticed when I received my bag was the quality of this product. Man, this bag is so tough. I love my Barney, its a crazy bag! The only thing left to say is, get one!
