OK, the customary bardge is FREAKIN' AWESOME! I could have used a more sophistocated adjective combo, but would have lost my excitement in translation. Freakin' awesome for my newly purchased Canon 40D kit. As a potential amatuer (really, I am that much of a beginner) I really appreciate the engineering that goes into a carry-all. FREAKIN' AWESOME!

Grooviest bag ever! This is the ultimate photo-enabled day-pack for my purposes. I can fit enough photo gear and still have plenty of room for food and water (important stuff, don'cha'know!) and a rain slicker or sweater (both if I pack 'em well enough). The laptop bit is perfectly sized for 17" laptops (if that's your persuasion), but since the Customary Barge lacks a tripod strap (my only gripe) I prefer to slip my compact tripod into the laptop sleeve when needed. I love this bag. I'm a Crumpler convert!

The bag is very efficient in its way of packing. It packs a lot more than it looks like and the bag is not that big. I can fit my 17" laptop comfortably. Great quality material too!

OU Photo Student - 07 Nov, 2006

Awesome Bag! By OU Photo Student from Norman, Oklahoma Pros: Adjustable Harness, Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Strong Construction Cons: Cumbersome, No tripod strap Best Uses: Protecting Gear, Transporting Gear Huge bag, holds all the gear I need and then some. I usually carry a canon elan 7ne with vertical grip, 28-70mm lens, 70-300mm lens, 50mm wide aperture lens, fisheye adapter, and all the film, filters, and other random accessories. You can also access your gear without having to take the bag completely off of your back. The camera bag can also be removed and a flap opens beteween the 2 compartments to create one huge compartment. I can easily put 3-50 sheet boxes of 11x17 photo paper in this bag as well as the rest of my darkroom gear (developing tanks, filters, film/negatives, towels etc. It also keeps my 15 inch MacBook Pro snug and secure in its laptop sleeve, There is ample padding all the way around the sleeve providing more than enough protection. The only real downside is the bag is big making it difficult to get through crowds of people etc. All together well built bag, great for school, and worth the price to me.
